The Inevitable Dislike Button

Though news of scammers creating a ‘Dislike’ button is a bit old now, it’s not going away.
SAN FRANCISCO — Computer security firm Sophos on Monday warned that scammers are duping Facebook users with a bogus “Dislike” button that slips malicious software onto machines.
There is no “Dislike” version of the “Like” icon that members of the world’s top social networking website use to endorse online comments, stories, pictures or other content shared with friends.
Facebook connect and similar services encourage users to get used to cross-site applications and buttons. This makes tricking people into clicking on bad links and giving out personal information much easier. Expect to see more of this kind of phishing/scamming story in the future.
